Your Spinn Makes drinks by spinning a centrifuge (our signature "Spinn Motor") at high speeds, to push coffee through a cake of grounds!
If you are seeing a message saying "the brewer is blocked" or even "the brewer is not reaching the desired speed" that means the Spinn motor cannot turn!

The Brewer being blocked can happen for a number of reasons, but the most common is missing maintenance cycles! When residue is left to sit in the Spinn, it can buildup over time, and eventually create a tough blockage that stops the centrifuge from spinning the brew basket! Even if you don't use your machine much, you should make sure to keep up with maintenance cycles, as any residue left to sit internally can dry in a tight notch, and become a kind of cement!

We have a support chat to help you get issues like this solved, but there are some good steps you can take prior to reaching out! While it won't address the motor directly, we recommend starting by cleaning your transport worm, as that is the component that dispenses grounds into the brew chamber, and if it is full of grounds, those may drop down while we are trying to clear the motor!
Once complete, you can move onto some steps to address the motor directly!
Remove the residue bin (the one that has the used coffee grounds in it.)
Let the machine cool down for 10 minutes
Behind the user interface sits the brewer (so right on top of where the residue bin usually sits). It is a black disk surrounding a silver bolt!
Manually try and turn the brewer (that black disk) several rotations in each direction (be cautious: this could be hot)
If the brewer turns easier after a 360 degree rotation; reinstall the residue bin and trigger a cleaning cycle via the app (drop down menu by clicking on the machine icon top right, then select cleaning - no cleaning agent needed)
Make note of how easily the brewer turned! It should spin without resistance, almost like a CD! 🤓
Once your cleaning cycle is complete, try out a brew!
